The Mannington 4-H Club is embarking on a new adventure in 2008.  The club will be shifting some of its focus into the world of math, science, and engineering.  Thanks to a grant from the NASA West Virginia Space Grant Consortium, the 4-H Club will be sending two teams to the state FIRST LEGO League Competition in Wheeling, West Virginia.  A kickoff event, Robotics Engineering Awareness DaY (READY) was held at West Virginia University on July 12th to signify the beginning of the Mannington 4-H Club Robotics Program.  The club is currently working to prepare for the state competition by  putting together a presentation on the climate and designing, building, programming, and testing an autonomous robot that can complete a set of predetermined tasks.
