Welcome to The Mannington 4-H Club
The Mannington 4-H Club is a youth program that provides a fun, educational, and safe environment for children and teenagers of northern Marion County. The club's main goal is to emphasize the 4-H slogan "Learn by Doing". To accomplish this goal the club provides many activities that teach the members various life skills while encouraging both individual and group participation. These life skills are the 4-H's four-fold development of one's head, heart, hands, and health.
2009-2010 Goals and Activities
Each year every member
completes at least one 4-H project and gives one demonstration. In the
past, the club has participated in activities such as Christmas
caroling, planting flowers, and visiting local nursing homes. In the
current year, the club aims to kickoff a reading program, begin new conservation projects working
in coordination with the Department of Environmental Protection,
promote healthier living in its members and the community, continue
volunteering at the Marion County Humane society, and teach members the
basics of robotics. The club also plans to continue to do a variety of
activities such as ice cream socials, cake decorating, pet care, and
much more.
